LES EDITS DU GOLEM 3
12 Inch
23.11.07
golem episode 3 : he has now left the earth to conquer the universe. and this 12inch deliver us the soundtrack of this space odyssey ! on a side youll find spacerock. this time, contrary to what you could think when youre listening to it, its not an edit of a forgotten italo b-side but an original track done this year by a famous french producers duo. no need to launch the worldwide nerd contest to find who did it in the late 70s.... on b-side, a.l-t. give us 2 new edits. reaching to the sky is an early electronic piece, hypnotic and completely weird with its guitar >à la morricone< ! and cosmic rocket, with its powerful drum and its siren all along the track, prove us how a 70s psychedelic library music production could be a dancefloor filler ! an epic song which sounds like chemical brothers produced by vangelis !

METRO AREA 7
12Inch
21.11.07
>read my mind< is the first full-on vocal track to actually be released by metro area (they had amassed a small catalog of unreleased vocal tracks since starting the project). featuring the incredible pipes of philip owusu (of ubiquity records owusu & hannibal), >read my mind< is a dynamic boogie romp full of contrast: sweet yet meloncholy, warm yet raw. it hearkens back to the days where songwriting and arrangement still had a place in dance music and we hope youll love it. and for the beat purists, theres an irresistible >rmm special dub< version - perfect for doubles! flipping to the b-side yields >erodyne<- an incredible space-disco epic that rocks time and space, looking forward with angular arpeggiated riffs and futurist moods while anchored by an undeniably d.i.s.c.o. groove. check out metro area 7 and be transported - hot music, built to last!
NIGHT SAILING
12 Inch
21.11.07
new kanadas adam marshall delivers a stunning peak-hour track with obvious inspiration from old school detroit techno and classik chicago house. >kokane< begins as a tightly wound minimal house groove with precise, pounding percussion and heavily swung jack. after the 3:30 mark the track gives way glistening synth chords which shine through the darkness transporting the cut into carl craig-ish jazz territory. on the flip, montreals ernesto ferreyra mutek, cynosure brings a south american flavour to the remix and takes the dancefloor oddessy deep into the chilean canyons. a late night mixing tool for the djs. lastly, we find the outro called >moonlight chills< on the second cut of side b. ambient and lush, this one is for the late night detroit highways. mojo and the darkness along i75! a deep ending to a very personal journey.

RETURN OF THE THROATWOBBLER
12 Inch
19.11.07
its almost 4 years to the day that jeff samuels >throatwobbler mangrove ep< was released on karloff #03, and even today the four world hits of the record are getting digged out by djs, when the minimalism needs to either groove or jack again. so now with >return of the throatwobbler< theres finally an appropriate follow-up by the man from seattle.. erm.. berlin, after he’s impressively run riot in the meantime, on labels like spectral, trapez, poker flat, frankie and logistic. the a-side >terso< is shuffling and twirling and bouncing in such a winsome way that not many can master like jeff samuel. almost like an electric ray - left and right and left, and without letting any tempting gimmicks take the mind off the straight path. appropriately enough, >the spook< on the b-side comes along a bit more spookily, with a bassline twisting into the brain, ripped up by miniatures of bleeps and chords just in the right moments, and thus leading the track to an agile, exhilarated climax
NEVER MEET THEM
12 Inch
19.11.07
after his first release on flash recordings together with daso on the night express ep, pawas is now back with his very own three-track ep on the label of koletzki & meindl. all tracks were created in pune in india, pawas’ hometown, and the ep is about three different characters. alicia, charlie and edward. each one of them has a certain distinctive vibe about them: alicia is deep and eloquent, edward is more hectic and restless while charlie seems the funky and witty sort. in terms of music, edward is carried on a powerful, deep synthie melody, a big breathing bassline and some great percussive clicks and clacks that turn into a slightly ravey minimal burner later on in the tune. very hot! edward is a little lighter and is pushed forward by a great funky melody that creates the perfect after hour moment. imagine yourself on the beach when the sun is coming up. alicia on the a side is a deeper, more housy affair has a melodic, percussive and detroity appeal. pawas has managed to create a very fresh and unique signature sound and with releases on squonk, connaisseur and flash records, 2007 seems to be the year for him.

16.11.07
here s an appetizer before the full length nebraska album drops on dl. vicarious disco (alt. mix) is a slightly different mix of one of the key album tracks, a combination of an insistent looped up riff, soaring orchestral strings, and a hot nickels synth bassline. me me me goes more juan style techno, all portamento slides and peppered staccato melodies a jacker! for the b side, we asked one of our all-time favorite producers to remix vicarious disco soul 223, aka stasis. its similar in style to his other soul 223 stuff, his personalized take on detroit beatdown house.
legowelt comes with an amazing disco/chicago/detroit hybride track. on the flip side nice retro sounding tracks by orgue electronique (on a string) and gibson fowler (house galore).. 2 old school chicago tracks for the aficionados of that sound. great job of legowelt and orgue electronique!

MUSIC / INCL KIKO REMIX
12 Inch
14.11.07
music, i need more music, music and more … with her previous eps >ultra glamour<, >hellraiser< and last but not least her collaboration with anthony rother on the >dont worry<-remix, xenia beliayeva, being in her mid-twenties, has established herself as an important representative for the new label sounds of datapunk. powerful and full of energy, beliayeva flirts with industrial noise but still remains full of emotion. this is also valid of course for her current single >music<, a co-production with the milan dj and producer dj remo, who until now has provided furore above all in his collaboration with singer chelonis r.jones, among other things on giant wheel and dance electric, (>black sabrina<, >empire<). >music< established a significantly pop music related side of beliayeva, certainly her most catchy datapunk release to date. on the flipside christophe dallarca aka kiko, who became a fixed component of the datapunk circle since his >tragolta<-ep, is brilliant with an energy loaded remix

GABRIEL / EARLY BIRD
12 Inch
13.11.07
>after his very well acclaimed debut on orphanear with >jujuy&salta< and his impelling and chartbreaking remix for tocotronics latest 12 >imitationen<, pawel is back with >gabriel< on orphanear. both tracks have it in oneself to provide the autumn soundtrack for deep and dark house loving clubs all over the globe. the a-side with >gabriel< mixes classic house-strings with some xylophone and bell-sounds rather known from hamburgs scene around dial and smallville records. these elements built up in beautiful layers to culminate in a furious rather ironic break. the b-side with >early bird< begins with an airy beat that brings pawels 2004 vocalhouse lover >grab it< back to mind. after the softer intro the track mutates into a synthspiral which home has already been defined by pawels 12 >ceramic<. some abandoned industrial city in the north of the united states. a timeless record.<
SAUDADE RMX

three extremly funk bombs !! first up is the mooqee & russ cuban edit - tweaking the best bits of the original, dropping a bit more vocal and generally adding some of that bombstrikes magic, this has been killing wherever it gets played. over on the flip is the kw griff original, which with a higher tempo and raw feel also does what its supposed to. also on the b side is the track footstompin, a catchy as hell 50s vocal with a relentless rhythm
PERIODIC FLUCTUATIONS OF VOLTAGES
12 Inch
07.11.07
kontra-musik 006 moves the label into the analog domain of electronic dance music. this kind of sound you only get with the good old analogues. the a-side, produced by the master of the modular system, pseudonym scaff, takes us deep down our favorite techno memory lane. if techno was the meeting of kraftwerk and george clinton in an elevator, ssm 440 is the outcome of jeff mills and maurizio having breakfast at tiffanys. this track is warm, dubby and monotonous but with a drive heading straight for the late night dance floor. the b-side gives us two unique sounding tracks from pseudonym aparatus. city tunnel slowly and elegantly grinds, cranks and turns while building its way towards dance floor bliss. x-presso is best described as periodic fluctuations of voltages in the analog domain. elegant details of beautiful sound take us back to the time when minimal music still was interesting. this is >techno< in the sense that the term was originally intended. enjoy cause analog is the bastard

PERFECT MOMENT / RMX BY EFDEMIN & NASS
12 Inch
31.10.07
here comes andreas heiszenberger (ware/normoton) with what seems like a requiem to a past love. the track is moody, twisted, dubby and full of intense ambivalent emotions, from love to hate and from pop to abstraction. then comes nass aka geiger (firm/teile/kindish) to give the original the treatment and what a treatment! surely more effective than your post-depression counselor, nass goes for a dub techno oddissey that will make hardwax enthusiasts drop their prozac prescription. on the flip side one of the men of the year, mr. efdemin (dial / liebe*detail / curle) comes with the definitive solution: go deep, then stand up and dance. efdemin presents us with a work of love, an unmistaken hommage to the sound of berlin. to finalise, andreas heiszenberger goes for the traditional medicine to relieve any heartache: deep house with a nod to lowtec, theo parrish and the dial ensemble. a truly perfect moment
